What You Need To Know About Decoloring Agent

Leave a message

Decoloring Agent is a chemical used to remove color from a substance. Its working mechanism is mainly achieved by chemical reaction, adsorption or flocculation. According to its mechanism, the decoloring agent is divided into oxidation decoloring agent, adsorption decoloring agent and flocculation decoloring agent.

  • Oxidation decolorizers use strong oxidizing substances such as hydrogen peroxide and chlorine to react with color groups and destroy their molecular structure, thus removing the color.

  • Adsorption decolorizer, like active carbon or active aluminum oxide, is designed to adsorb colored substances in wastewater through its own porous structure to remove chroma.

  • As these two types of decolorizers have certain limitations, flocculation decolorizers have become the mainstream products of decolorization.

Flocculation decolorizers are cationic polymer compounds with multiple functions such as decolorization, flocculation, and COD decomposition. They react chemically with the coloring substances in the wastewater, mainly through electrical neutralization, hydrogen bonding, adsorption bridging and other mechanisms, to form stable flocculants which are then removed by precipitation or filtration.

Due to its excellent performance, decolorizer is widely used in textile, paper making, chemical industry and other fields.

Textile and Dyeing Industry

In the process of textile printing and dyeing, due to the wide variety of dyes and complex processes, the wastewater often contains a large number of coloring substances that are difficult to degrade. Whether acidic, alkaline or disperse dyes, our decolorizer can achieve a great decolorization effect to ensure effluent discharge standards.

Paper Industry

Papermaking wastewater is a significant source of water pollution, primarily from various stages of the paper production process, including the black water from pulping, bleaching wastewater, and white water from the paper workshop. They contain a lot of pollutants and suspended solids, and have a high concentration of COD. Decolorizers are used to treat papermaking wastewater by aggregating the suspended solids and fine particles into flocs, facilitating the decolorization process.
