Gong introduction

 

I am the chemist of Shijiazhuang Aquaenjoy Environment Corporation Limited, a leading and professioanl water treatment chemicals exporter in China. I have been in the business for 19 years. Since 2010 I have been working in this company and have grown with it.

 

In my opinion, the most important swimming pool chemicals are disinfectants, flocculants/clarifiers, and algaecides and the core elements are chlorine (or bromine), aluminum, and cationic polymers. Not too much. Pool chemistry looks simple. However, the subtle difference is that the chemical process takes place in extremely dilute solutions, which differs from the situation in most areas of chemistry. Therefore, some common conclusions will be biased or even wrong if applied directly to swimming pools. In addition, as pool managers are not usually professional chemists, we need to carefully consider all the links and possible problems to identify and solve the issues as quickly as possible. Sometimes subtle differences in water quality come into play, and all these factors mix together to create interesting puzzles. Every time we solve a problem, our team's understanding of the product and my understanding of chemistry go further.

 

Since 2012, the company has expanded its business to industrial water treatment. Industrial water treatment is completely different from swimming pools. The water quality treated by users around the world and the different application scenarios vary greatly. This requires a deep understanding of the mechanism of action of chemicals (mainly flocculants and coagulants) and possible influencing factors in the water, in order to find the way through the fog as quickly as possible. Sometimes it's simply impossible to find the root cause of the problem.

 

Thanks to the educational philosophy of Lanzhou University, when we first studied there, we had so many courses: inorganic chemistry, organic chemistry, analytical chemistry, physical chemistry, polymer chemistry, structural chemistry, spectroscopy, instrumental analysis, biochemistry, solid chemistry, applied chemistry, chemical engineering and related experimental courses, as well as advanced mathematics and advanced physics. When complex problems arise at work, I can always find useful clues from the vast store of knowledge.

 

My expertise paved the way for the company to win a major legal dispute with a multinational company in 2022. It was a highlight for the company and for me.
