Polyacrylamide (PAM) is a water-soluble polymer that is insoluble in most organic solvents. It has a good flocculation and coagulation effect and can reduce the frictional resistance between liquids. It can be divided into three types: anionic, cationic, and non-ionic according to its ionic properties. Because charge densities and molecular weight of PAM can be customized, it has a wide range of applications, including wastewater treatment, paper production, mineral processing, oil field etc.

Storage
Polyacrylamide powder is a dry powder polymer. If you want to keep the product stable and convenient for future use, the following storage conditions should be noted:
- Polyacrylamide powder should be stored in a sealed container. After each use of the product, it should be sealed immediately to prevent deliquescence.
- Polyacrylamide powder should be stored in a cool, dry and well-ventilated place, avoiding direct sunlight.
- Polyacrylamide is an organic polymer and should be kept away from fire sources and strong oxidants.
- When storing chemicals, it is wise to make labels, such as product batch, production date and other information, to facilitate timely use later.
How to Use Polyacrylamide Powder
- The first and most important point is that polyacrylamide powder cannot be used directly. When using PAM for water treatment, it should be dissolved in water first.
- To dissolve polyacrylamide powder, clean water is required. Generally speaking, it is better to dissolve in water at a temperature of 25℃ to 40℃.
- During the dissolution process, polyacrylamide powder should be added slowly and evenly to the stirred water to avoid the formation of lumps.
